After many decades of running the Lamprey Canoe Race, the Epping Conservation Commission in 2010 turned the race over to the local chapter of the Lions' Club. Please visit their site for more information.

 

It was a glorious day for a canoe race this year! Great weather and a great turnout made for a nice day on the river. Thanks to all who supported us, including Neal and Verna and their grandchildren who have volunteered for years; Zampa Restaurant who donated first place prizes; Pam Tibbets of the newly formed Epping Lion's Club who brought coffee and donuts for participants; Rene Archambeault, Board of Selectmen's representative to the Conservation Commission; the Epping Police Department for providing road safety coverage; and everyone who particpated and supported the participants!
