Fall Photo Contest

The Epping Conservation Commission is pleased to announce its first Fall Photo Contest for all high school students who are residents of Epping.

Each student may submit up to two photographs to the contest. Each photograph must depict a scene on Epping conservation land. Each photo must be accompanied by a note stating when and where it was taken. We'll be posting an official entry form shortly--but don't wait to start shooting pictures! Capture those Fall colors now!

Photos will be judged for artistic merit and for their ability to capture the look of our beautiful conservation lands.

Our panel of judges includes:
  • Tracy Archambault, Epping Conservation Commission
  • Jay Goldsmith, professional photographer (see Jay's Web site)
  • Scott Pim, Epping Conservation Commissioner
First, second, and third prizes will be awarded. We may award honorable mentions for specific categories, as well.

First Prize:

$50 plus a $15 gift card from Water St. Books in Exeter, NH

Second Prize:
    $35

Third Prize:
    $25

Deadline
All photos must be delivered to Town Hall no later than Friday, November 20, 2009 at 5 pm.

Prizes will be announced in mid-December.

Photo Formats and Content
Please submit your photo as a photo print. Photos in the final round of judging will be blown up to 8" x 10". Students may submit photos in this format originally, if they like.

Students can take photos with either a film camera or a digital camera. Images may be retouched, but elements of the landscape may not be re-arranged.

Images may include scenery and wildlife, but not people.

We've posted a list of conservation lands here.

Entry Form
A PDF version of an entry form is available at the bottom of this page. You'll need the entry form when you turn in your photo, but you don't need it to start taking pictures.

Photos on Display
In addition to posting photos on this Web site, we're looking into venues, such as galleries, that might be interested in displaying students' work. Watch this page for details.
